The children in Class 1 have taken part in RSPBs birth bird watch. They started by looking at some of the different types of birds that they may be able to see. They then watched a Jojo and Grangran episode all about birdwatching. They listened carefully to learn what we would need to do to watch the birds successfully. They learnt that they needed to be quiet and stay very still. They then listened to some of the different bird calls that we might be able to hear outside. After that they went outside in groups to watch and hear the birds. Lots of the children spotted blackbirds, great tits, robins and blue tits. After that they all made their own bird feeders with lard and bird seed. We will hang these outside later in the week and see if the birds will enjoy them!
